THINGS TO
CONSIDER


1. Riding “UP-RIGHT” and Comfortable OR “BENT-OVER” and Aggressive?
Up right = handlebars come back to you (eyes facing straight ahead).
Bent over = you lean forward to reach handlebars (eyes looking down).

2. CLASSIC frame style or STEP-THRU?
Classic frame high top tube (men’s) - many women also prefer this style.
Step-Thru low top tube (women’s) - bad knees / back? Easy on & off !

3. STEEL FRAME or ALUMINUM?
Steel frames are heavy and have some flex. (Traditional)
Aluminum frames are lightweight and stiffer. (Modern)


4. HOW MANY SPEEDS OR GEARS DO I NEED?
It depends on your preferences, level of physical fitness, how heavy your bike is, how far you’ll be riding, how steep the hills are, etc…)


5. HAND BRAKES OR FOOT BRAKE?
Most cruiser bikes have a pedal/foot brake - where you pedal backwards to stop.
Hand brakes can give you a better sense of control and range fromV-brake to Disc.

 
6. DO I EVEN KNOW WHAT I WANT?
