To Denman Bike Shop…

…i just want to THANK YOU so much for all you have done for me, and i know many others, over the years!

…it always amazes people that i’m not better at techy things because of the long treks i’ve taken…so when i need my bike fixed i need to go to a Shop where i feel the staff knows what they are doing!

– in 1970, i was the first person to ride a bicycle around North America (throughout the U.S. (30 States), Canada, and Mexico – 10,000 miles; in 2000 i rode through 33 States and 7 Provinces (18,000 Km) on a journey called ‘Cycling for Kindness’; and then this past year, in 2009, i journeyed 12,000 Km for 8 months pulling a 70 lb. trailer – “Kindness…Cycle it Forward”…altogether nearly 50,000 Km…..and for the last 10 years, Denman Bike Shop has been my ‘Home’ Shop, not only because i want excellent mechanics, but also because i like to go where i feel welcomed and i feel that the staff, not only cares about me, but all their customers.

with gratitude,

Brock Tully

The Denman Bike Shop was proud to be part of Vancouver’s preeminent fund raising gala organized by Shooting Stars Foundation’s Charity Auction – Gambado! was, yet again,  a huge success  this year.  which raised money for HIV and AIDS  agencies.  This year Denman Bike Shop donated the Electra Amsterdam Girard “Tree of Life”.

The “Tree of Life” is a Comfortable 3 speed Amsterdam by Electra, featuring the Art of Alexander Girard (1907-1993). Alexander Girard challenged the bland palette of the 1950’s and brought about Multi-Cultural design trends that are as innovative today as they were back then. Nature’s intricate details, hand-painted folk art and imaginative prints; Girard’s timeless style is the perfect complement to the Classic Amsterdam. The “Tree of Life” starts with a Traditional step-through Amsterdam frame, painted Snow White and adorned with reproductions of Alexander Girard’s Art and Graphics; matching Skirt guard, Chain guard, Seat, Grips, Carrier Rack and Fenders. Even the Wheels are painted to match! Forest Green rims and Blue Sky spokes. The bike has a functioning retro Headlight and lots of show Chrome. With 3 speeds, the “Tree of Life” is Easy to use and Fun to Ride. Also includes; a Lifetime Warranty on the frame and Free Tune-ups for 1 year courtesy of the Denman Bike Shop at Stanley Park. This rolling Tapestry will take you where You want to go; in Comfort and Style. Get caught up in the imagination of Alexander Girard and the Electra Bicycle Company as you Cruise through life on the “Tree of Life”
